Cornwall Ontario Police Disclose Only 3 Out of 62 Calls for Service JULY 31, 2019 #CPS

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Steven Coleman, 35 of Cornwall was arrested on July 30th, 2019 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the man breached his probation conditions and a warrant was issued for his arrest. While dealing with another matter on July 30th, 2019 the man was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and released to appear in court on August 29th, 2019.

ASSAULT, MISCHIEF

Cornwall, ON – A 19-year-old Cornwall man and a 16-year-old Cornwall youth were arrested on July 30th, 2019 and charged with assault. The 19-year-old was also charged with mischief. It’s alleged during an argument on this date they assaulted each other and the 19-year-old damaged a window. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation both were taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. Their names were not released as the matter stems from a domestic incident and would identify the victims in the matter.

MISCHIEF

Cornwall, ON – A 15-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on July 31st, 2019 and charged with mischief. It is alleged on July 31st, 2019 the youth damaged a curb in a parking lot with a truck he was driving. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, the youth was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. His name was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

There were 62 calls for service in the City of Cornwall in the last 24 hours (8am the previous day to 8am the day of the release).
