ASSAULT, THREATS, BREACH YOUTH PROBATION
Cornwall, ON – A 19-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on August 6th, 2019 and charged with assault, threats, and breach of youth probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on August 5th, 2019, the man assaulted a woman known to him and made threats to harm her. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On August 6th, 2019, the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as the conditions stem from when the man was a youth and is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
DOMESTIC ASSAULT, ASSAULT, THREATS, MISCHIEF, THEFT UNDER $5000
Cornwall, ON – A 28-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on August 6th, 2019 and charged with domestic assault, assault, threats x 2, domestic mischief and theft under $5000. It is alleged on August 5th, 2019, the man assaulted his ex-girlfriend, made threats to burn down her residence, and damaged walls, doors and other items in the residence. The man also assaulted the father of his ex-girlfriend and made threats to harm him. The man was located on August 6th, 2019, when he was leaving a Ninth Street business without making any attempt to pay for his merchandise. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
WARRANT
Cornwall, ON – Lynne Ladouceur, 49, of Cornwall was arrested on August 6th, 2019 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the woman failed to attend court on July 25th, 2019 as a result of failing to attend for prints and a warrant was issued for her arrest. On August 6th, 2019, the woman attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. She was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and released to appear in court on September 5th, 2019.
ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON, BREACH
Cornwall, ON – Christopher Cordy, 29, of Cornwall was arrested on August 6th, 2019 and charged with assault with a weapon and breach of probation for possessing a weapon and failing to keep the peace. It is alleged during an altercation with a man known to him, he swung a golf club at him and police were contacted. During the investigation, the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear in court on August 29th, 2019.
PERSONATING A PEACE OFFICER, PERSONATION
Cornwall, ON – Diane Cayer-Bylow, 63, of Massena, NY was arrested on August 6th, 2019 and charged with personating a peace officer and personation. It is alleged on July 8th, 2019, the woman falsely identified herself as a police officer, as well as provided a false name to a woman she did not know in attempt to retrieve items that do not belong to her. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On August 6th, 2019, the woman attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear in court on August 29th, 2019.
