Car Thieving in South Stormont #OPP Round Up for 082219

BREAK IN

(SOUTH DUNDAS,ON) On August 17, 2019 at approximately 11:25am, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police officers responded to a report of a break-in at a residence on Westwinds Drive in South Dundas Township.

Investigation indicated that sometime during the day August 17, 2019 culprit(s) entered the residence and removed various amounts of jewelry and damaged two doors at the location. An Investigation continues.

DISPUTE LEADS TO CHARGES

(SOUTH DUNDAS, ON) On August 19, 2019 at 2:12pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a disturbance on Beach Avenue in South Dundas Township. Investigation revealed that a male at the location was breaching previous release conditions. 

Zachary THOMPSON (age 19) of South Dundas, Ontario was arrested and charged with:

–             Fail to comply with conditions of an Recognizance ( two counts)

Thompson was held in custody (bail) and is scheduled to appear in Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall.

BREACH OF CONDITIONS

(NORTH DUNDAS, ON) On August 19, 2019 at 10:22pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a breach of conditions occurrence on County Road 43 in North Dundas Township. Investigation revealed that a youth male was breaching previous release conditions.   

On August 20, 2019 a 16-year-old male of North Dundas, Ontario was arrested and charged with:

–             Fail to comply with conditions of a Recognizance

He was held in custody (bail) and is scheduled to appear Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall.

MULTIPLE THEFTS FROM VEHICLES

(SOUTH STORMONT,ON) – Overnight (August 21-22, 2019) – several vehicles were entered as they were parked at residences on County Road 18 (Luneburg Area), South Stormont Township. Inside, Canadian currency, OBD reader tool, and wallets (containing credit cards etc.) were stolen.

SD&G OPP are seeking the public’s assistance to obtain any outdoor surveillance video or reports of any suspicious persons that had been observed in the area during the previous evenings.

An investigation continues.
