Multiple Shoplifting Charges in Cornwall Ontario POLICE BLOTTER #CPS 090519

SHOPLIFTING, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Marc Pharand, 28, of Cornwall was arrested on September 4th, 2019 and charged with theft under $5000 and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on August 31st, 2019, the man attended a Cornwall Square business and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the items as he left the store. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On September 4th, 2019, the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on October 24th, 2019.

MISCHIEF UNDER $5000

Cornwall, ON – A 15-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on September 4th, 2019 and charged with mischief under $5000. It is alleged the youth damaged a wall in his residence and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation, the youth was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. His name was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Deborah Cooper, 49, of Cornwall was arrested on September 4th, 2019 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the woman failed to attend court for an impaired offence on August 27th, 2019 and a warrant was issued for her arrest. On September 4th, 2019, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on September 26th, 2019.

SHOPLIFTING

Cornwall, ON – Kristan Hewitt, 26, of Cornwall was arrested on September 4th, 2019 and charged with theft under $5000. It is alleged the woman attended a Second Street business on September 4th, 2019 and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the items as she left the store. She was stopped by a Loss Prevention Officer and police were contacted. During the investigation, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on October 8th, 2019.

MISCHIEF UNDER $5000

Cornwall, ON – A 17-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on September 4th, 2019 and charged with mischief under $5000. It is alleged the youth damaged a door in his residence and police were contacted to investigate. On September 4th, 2019, the youth attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. His name was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
