WARRANT
Cornwall, ON – John Hardy, 53, of Ingleside was arrested on September 16th, 2019 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the man failed to attend court on December 13th, 2018 for a theft charge and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On September 16th, 2019, the man was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing.
WARRANT
Cornwall, ON – An 18-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on September 16th, 2019 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the man failed to attend court on January 10th, 2019 for a threats offence and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On September 16th, 2019, the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. The warrant was executed and the man was held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as the incident occurred when the man was a youth and is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
OBSTRUCT POLICE, RESIST POLICE, BREACH
Cornwall, ON – Jordon Pharand, 27, of Cornwall was arrested on September 16th, 2019 and charged with obstruct police, resist police, as well as breach of recognizance for possessing a cheque. It is alleged the man falsely identified himself to police and attempted to flee the area while police were conducting an investigation. He was taken into custody, at which time he was found to be in possession of a cheque, despite his conditions. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
WARRANT
Cornwall, ON – Zulfiqar Ali, 40, of Cornwall was arrested on September 16th, 2019 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the man breached his probation and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On September 16th, 2019, the man was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and released to appear in court on October 31st, 2019.
DOMESTIC MISCHIEF
Cornwall, ON – A 44-year-old Ottawa woman was arrested on September 16th, 2019 and charged with domestic mischief. It is alleged during an altercation with her ex-boyfriend, the woman damaged a window at the man’s residence and police were subsequently contacted. During the investigation, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on October 1st, 2019. Her name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
MISCHIEF UNDER $5000
Cornwall, ON – A 16-year-old Alexandria youth was arrested on September 16th, 2019 and charged with mischief under $5000. It is alleged while in custody at the courthouse on an unrelated matter, the youth damaged a sprinkler and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, the youth was charged accordingly and remained in custody to await a bail hearing. His name was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
