Cornwall Ontario Police Don’t Disclose Crime Blotter for Oct 3, 2019 #CPS 100419

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Gregory Malenfant, 32 of Cornwall was arrested on October 3rd, 2019 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the man failed to attend court on April 8th, 2019 for breach charges and a warrant was issued for his arrest. While investigating another matter on October 3rd, 2019 the man was located by police. He was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing.

THEFT UNDER, POSSESSION OF PROPERTY OBTAINED BY CRIME, WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Tristen Wilkens, 21 of Cornwall was arrested on October 3rd, 2019 on the strength of a warrant and also charged with theft under $5000 and possession of property obtained by crime. It is alleged on October 3rd, 2019 while in the area of Third Street and Adolphus Street, the man took someone’s bicycle without permission and police were contacted to investigate. The man was located a short distance away, taken into custody and charged accordingly. An outstanding warrant for theft related charges was also executed. He was then released to appear in court on November 5th, 2019.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Christopher Forget, 36, of Cornwall was arrested on October 1st, 2019 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the man breached his conditional sentence order and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On October 1st, 2019, the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing.

SEXUAL ASSAULT X 2, THREATS, INDECENT ACT

Cornwall, ON – Andy Bergeron, 47, of Cornwall was arrested on October 1st, 2019 and charged with two counts of sexual assault, uttering threats and indecent act. It is alleged the man sexually assaulted a woman known to him in April and June, and further exposed himself in a public place in April. The man is also alleged to have made threats to kill the woman and police were subsequently contacted. On October 1st, 2019, the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on November 5th, 2019.

SHOPLIFTING, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Jeffrey Leblanc, 29, of Cornwall was arrested on October 1st, 2019 for theft under $5000 and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on December 12th, 2018, the man attended a Ninth Street business and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the items as he left the store. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On October 1st, 2019, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on November 5th, 2019.

SHOPLIFTING, ASSAULT TO RESIST ARREST, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Ernest Corbiere, 43, of Cornwall was arrested on October 1st, 2019 for theft under $5000, assault to resist arrest and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged the man attended a Ninth Street business and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the items as he left the store. He was stopped by a Loss Prevention Officer and assaulted him in attempt to resist arrest. Police were contacted and took the man into custody. He was charged accordingly and released to appear in court on November 5th, 2019.

POSSESSION OF PROPERTY OBTAINED BY CRIME

Cornwall, ON – Steven Campbell, 40, of Cornwall was arrested on October 1st, 2019 and charged with possession of property obtained by crime. It is alleged while conducting a traffic stop on October 1st, 2019, police observed the man was in possession of a stolen licence plate and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on November 5th, 2019.

IMPAIRED, FAIL TO COMPLY WITH DEMAND

Cornwall, ON – Katherine McGillis, 53, of Cornwall was arrested on October 1st, 2019 and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and fail to comply with demand. It is alleged the woman was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol in the area of McConnell Avenue and Ninth Street. During a traffic stop, the woman failed to provide a suitable sample of her breath. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on October 10th, 2019.
