DOMESTIC ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 30-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on November 26th, 2019 and charged with domestic assault. It is alleged during an argument with her boyfriend on November 26th, the woman assaulted him and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on December 10th, 2019. Her name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

THEFT UNDER $5000, FRAUD UNDER $5000

Cornwall, On – Dawn Niblock, 55, of Cornwall was arrested on November 26th, 2019 and charged with theft under $5000 and fraud under $5000. It is alleged on October 12th, 2019, the woman attended a Ninth Street business and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for some of the items as she left the store. The woman re-attended the store and fraudulently returned an item that she did not purchase in order to obtain a refund. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On November 26th, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on December 31st, 2019.

CRIMINAL HARASSMENT, THREATS, ASSAULT, ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON, PERSONATION TO AVOID ARREST, POSSESSION OF AN IMITATION WEAPON FOR A DANGEROUS PURPOSE, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 44-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on November 27th, 2019 and charged with the following:

• Criminal harassment
• Threats x 3
• Assault
• Assault with a weapon x 2
• Personation to avoid arrest
• Possession of an imitation weapon for a dangerous purpose x 2
• Breach of recognizance (for failing to reside at a certain address)
• Breach of probation x 9 (for contacting his girlfriend, for attending her residence, being within a certain distance of her, and failing to keep the peace)

It is alleged between October and November, the man had assaulted his girlfriend using a knife and a pair of scissors, as well as made threats to kill her. On November 27th, the man was located in his girlfriend’s residence, despite his conditions, and provided a false name to police. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
