DRUG OFFENCES
Cornwall, ON – Kerby Franklin, 29, of Cornwall was arrested on November 29th, 2019 and charged with the following:
• Possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine
• Possession for the purpose of trafficking heroin
• Possession of property obtained by crime
• Breach of probation (for failing to keep the peace)
It is alleged the man was wanted by the Cornwall Police Service for an unrelated matter, and was located by police on November 29th. He was taken into custody, at which time he was found to be in possession of a quantity of cocaine, heroin, as well as Canadian and American currency. The man was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON, POSSESSION OF A WEAPON FOR A DANGEROUS PURPOSE, THREATS
Cornwall, ON – Kanekiiostha Edwards, 44, of Cornwall was arrested on November 29th, 2019 and charged with assault with a weapon, uttering threats, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. It is alleged during an altercation with a man known to her, the woman made threats to harm him and assaulted him with a knife. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
SHOPLIFTING x 2, BREACH
Cornwall, ON – Jeffrey Burles, 35, of Cornwall was arrested on November 30th, 2019 and charged with two counts of theft under $5000. He was also charged with four counts of breach of probation for attending a certain business and failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on November 23rd and November 26th, the man attended a Brookdale Avenue business and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the items as he left the store on either day. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On November 30th, 2019, the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on January 9th, 2020.
SHOPLIFTING, BREACH
Cornwall, ON – Craig Hopkins, 42, of Cornwall was arrested on November 30th, 2019 and charged with theft under $5000 and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged the man attended a Brookdale Avenue business and November 30th and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the items as he left the store. He was stopped by a Loss Prevention Officer and police were contacted. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on January 7th, 2020.
DOMESTIC ASSAULT & MISCHIEF
Cornwall, ON – A 41-year-old Ottawa woman was arrested on November 30th, 2019 and charged with domestic assault and mischief. It is alleged during an argument with her boyfriend, the woman struck him, as well as damaged medication belonging to the man. Police were contacted and took the woman into custody. She was charged accordingly and released to appear in court on December 10th, 2019. Her name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
DOMESTIC ASSAULT
Cornwall, ON – A 44-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on December 1st, 2019 and charged with domestic assault. It is alleged during an argument with her boyfriend, the woman assaulted him and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on December 10th, 2019. Her name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
ASSAULT, BREACH
Cornwall, ON – Brian Snyder, 33, of Cornwall was arrested on December 1st, 2019 and charged with assault, as well as breach of undertaking for failing to reside at a certain address and failing to notify police of a change of address. It is alleged during an altercation with someone known to him , the man assaulted the individual and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
DOMESTIC BREACH
Cornwall, ON – A 36-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on December 2nd, 2019 and charged with breach of recognizance for contacting his girlfriend. It is alleged during a traffic stop on December 2nd, the man was located in a vehicle with his girlfriend, despite his conditions. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
