DOMESTIC BREACH, POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE
Cornwall, ON – A 36-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on December 11th, 2019 and charged with the following:
• Breach of recognizance x 3 (for contacting his ex-girlfriend, failing to remain in his residence, and possessing drugs)
• Breach of probation (for failing to keep the peace)
• Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance – Methamphetamine
It is alleged the man had contacted his ex-girlfriend on December 10th, despite his conditions, and police were contacted to investigate. On December 11th, the man was located by police, outside of his residence. He was taken into custody, at which time he was found to be in possession of a quantity of methamphetamine. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
WARRANT
Cornwall, ON – A 39-year-old Long Sault man was arrested on December 11th, 2019 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the man failed to attend court on December 10th, 2019 for a domestic offence and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On December 11th, 2019, the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and released to appear in court on January 9th, 2020. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
WARRANT
Cornwall, ON – A 27-year-old man from Akwesasne was arrested on December 11th, 2019 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the man failed to attend court on November 28th, 2019 for a domestic offence and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On December 11th, 2019, a member of the Cornwall Police Service attended the courthouse as the man was in custody on an unrelated matter. The warrant was executed and the man remained in custody to await a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
SHOPLIFTING, BREACH
Cornwall, ON – James Quinn, 35, of Cornwall was arrested on December 11th, 2019 and charged with theft under $5000 and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on October 20th, 2019 the man attended a Second Street business and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the item as he left the store. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On December 11th, 2019, a member of the Cornwall Police Service attended the courthouse as the man was in custody on an unrelated matter. He was charged accordingly and remained in custody to await a bail hearing.
FRAUD OVER $5000, PUBLIC MISCHIEF, FRAUDULENT CONCEALMENT
Cornwall, ON – Mohamed Tuan Kitchil, 38, of Vaudreuil-Dorion was arrested on December 11th, 2019 and charged with fraud over $5000, public mischief, as well as fraudulent concealment. It is alleged on May 7th, 2019, the man falsely reported his vehicle as being stolen, and subsequently received quantity of money from his insurance company. The stolen vehicle complaint was determined to be unfounded and an investigation ensued. On December 11th, 2019, the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on January 9th, 2020.
CRIMINAL HARASSMENT, BREACH
Cornwall, ON – A 26-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on December 11th, 2019 and charged with criminal harassment and breach of recognizance for contacting his ex-girlfriend. The man was also charged with breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged between December 9-10, the man repeatedly contacted his ex-girlfriend, despite his conditions, and police were contacted to investigate. On December 11th, 2019, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
ASSAULT
Cornwall, ON – A 14-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on December 11th, 2019 and charged with assault. It is alleged on November 8th, 2019, the youth assaulted another youth known to him and police were contacted to investigate. On December 11th, 2019, he attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. His name was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
