WARRANT EXECUTED – ONE ARRESTED
(NORTH GLENGARRY,ON) On January 9, 2020 members of the Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), Emergency Response Team (ERT), and SD&G OPP officers executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Search Warrant at a property on Main Street, Alexandria, Ontario. Officer seized a quantity of suspected Methamphetamine tablets (speed) and cocaine.
Rebecca LACOMBE (age 42 ) of North Glengarry, Ontario was arrested and charged with;
– Possession of a controlled substance – cocaine
– Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking
The accused was released from custody and scheduled to appear in Alexandria court of justice on February 4, 2020.
(SD&G) – On January 10, 2020 Ontario Provincial Police officers conducted speed measuring enforcement in SD&G and intercepted a vehicle for traveling at excessive speeds. The vehicle was impounded and their driver’s permits seized for seven (7) days in accordance to policy and was charged with Stunt Driving (Highway Traffic Act).
– January 10, 2020 at 12:17 p.m (South Glengarry) a vehicle was stopped traveling 159km/h (100km/h zone) (Highway 401) – 40-year-old driver from Dollard-des-Ormeaux, Quebec.
DISTURBANCE LEADS TO CHARGES
(SOUTH DUNDAS,ON) – On January 10, 2020, at approximately 9:50 p.m Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police officers responded to a report of a break in at a Residence in South Dundas Township.
Investigation indicated that the culprit attended the location and attempted to gain entry to the residence, the culprit then fled the area in the victim’s vehicle. The culprit was located and arrested a short distance away. Further investigation revealed that the adult driver was under the influence of alcohol.
Christian CHAMPAGNE (age 32) of Cornwall, Ontario was charged with;
– Break and Enter
– Theft of Motor Vehicle
– Fail to comply with conditions of a recognizance
– Operation while impaired – blood concentration – over 80
– Operation while impaired – alcohol
The accused was held in custody (bail) and is scheduled to a court appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall.
(SOUTH GLENGARRY,ON) – On January 12, 2020 at approximately 10:36 p.m, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers, with the assistance of OPP Emergency Response Team, responded to a report of a theft at the On route gas bar in South Glengarry Township.
Investigation indicated one unknown suspect entered the store and demanded cash. The Suspect fled on foot in an unknown direction of the scene with a quantity of Canadian Currency.
No injuries resulted. No weapon was observed
The suspect is described as follows;
– Male, Caucasian, 5’7″-5’8″, medium build, , wearing a dark toque, a dark blue or black coat.
The SD&G OPP continue to investigate.
