Cornwall, ON – Police are currently conducting an investigation in the area of Edward St. and Lennox St., resulting in heavy police presence. Please avoid the area. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
1:15 am – UPDATE – The CPS is currently investigating a barricaded man in a residence near Edward St. and Lennox St. The situation is contained and there is believed to be no threat to public safety. Police are continuing to ask the public to avoid the area as the investigation continues.
2:00 am – UPDATE – Earlier this evening, the Cornwall Police Service (CPS) was responding to a report of a barricaded man in an Edward Street residence, as there were concerns for the man’s well-being. Members of the CPS, including the Cornwall Emergency Response Team and Crisis Negotiators, attended to assist with resolving the situation safely. Paramedics and the Fire Department were also on scene as a precautionary measures.
At approximately 1:55 am, the man was safely apprehended into police custody.
