Crime Up as COVID 19 Coronavirus Lands in Cornwall. #CPS POLICE BLOTTER 040620

ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON, POSSESSION OF A WEAPON FOR A DANGEROUS PURPOSE, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 26-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on April 3rd, 2020 and charged with assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and breach of a release order for possessing a weapon. It is alleged on April 2nd, 2020 the woman brandished a knife during an argument with her ex-boyfriend and police were contacted to investigate. The woman was taken into custody during the investigation, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. Her name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Kyle Morrow, 35 of Cornwall was arrested on April 3rd, 2020 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the man failed to attend for prints on July 30th, 2018 and a warrant was issued for his arrest. He was located on April 3rd, 2020 by a member of the Cornwall Police Service, taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing.

IMPAIRED, OVER 80

Cornwall, ON – Angel Labrosse, 35 of Cornwall was arrested on April 3rd, 2020 and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and over 80. It is alleged on April 3rd, 2020 the woman was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol in the area of Marleau Avenue and Nick Kaneb. She was taken into custody during a traffic stop, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on June 16th, 2020.

ROBBERY

Cornwall, ON – Michael Beauvais, 32 of Cornwall was arrested on April 4th, 2020 and charged with robbery. It is alleged on April 3rd, 2020 the man entered a McConnell Avenue business and attempted to remove money from the cash register while the owner was present. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The man was located on April 4th, 2020, taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

THEFT UNDER $5000, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Lee Davis, 29 of Cornwall was arrested on April 4th, 2020 and charged with theft under $5000 and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on April 4th, 2020 the man removed property a Second Street East store making no attempt to pay for the merchandise as he left the store. Police happened to be in the area and were alerted by an employee. The man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

IMPAIRED, OVER 80

Cornwall, ON – Sterling Oakes, 28 of Akwesasne was arrested on April 5th, 2020 and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and over 80. It is alleged on April 5th, 2020 the man was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol when he was stopped at the Port of Entry. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on June 16th, 2020.

DANGEROUS OPERATION, FAIL TO REMAIN, THEFT OF A MOTOR VEHICLE, DRIVE WHILE PROHIBITED, POSSESSION OF BREAK-IN TOOLS, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Scott Robinson, 24 of Cornwall was arrested on April 5th, 2020 and charged with the following:
• Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle
• Fail to Remain at the Scene of a Collision
• Operation While Prohibited
• Theft of Motor Vehicle
• Possession of Break-in Instruments
• Fail to Comply with Probation (keep the peace)
• Fail to Comply with Release Order x 2 (remain in your residence, not to operate a motor vehicle)
It is alleged on April 5th, 2020 the man was operating a stolen motorcycle southbound on York Street when it struck another vehicle at the corner of Second Street. The driver then fled the scene on foot and was located a short distance away. It is also alleged during his arrest he was found to be in possession of break in tools. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 17-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on April 5th, 2020 and charged with breach of undertaking for being in the company of someone he has conditions not to associate with and for breaching his curfew. It’s alleged on April 5th, 2020 police found the youth in breach of his conditions. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. His name was not released as per the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

There were 160 calls for service in the City of Cornwall in over the weekend (8am Friday to 8am Monday morning).
