Off-duty officer charged with Impaired driving-related offence
(Ottawa) — An off-duty Ottawa Police Service member has been charged with Impaired driving on Monday, May 4th. Police responded to calls from the public about an erratic driver in the area of Old Montreal Road and Dairy Road, at approximately 1:45pm.
Constable James Monroe, 50 years old, of Ottawa was charged by the Ottawa Police with Operating a conveyance with a Blood Alcohol Content of /over 80 mg of alcohol in 100 ml of blood contrary to section 320.14(1)(b) the Criminal Code of Canada.
The officer was released on a Promise to Appear.
He has been assigned to administrative duties.
The Ottawa Police Service Professional Standards Section has begun an investigation into this matter.
