ATTEMPT FRAUD
Cornwall, ON- Wenda Perkins, 53 of Cornwall was arrested on the 5th of April, 2012. It is alleged that between January and February 2012, she attempted to obtain money by soliciting door to door. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. She was charged with 2 counts of attempt fraud and released to appear in court on the 4th of April, 2012.
DRUG SEARCH WARRANT EXECUTED
Cornwall, ON- Members of the Cornwall Community Police Service Street Crime Unit executed a drug search warrant shortly after 2:00 p.m. on the 5th of April, 2012 at a Carleton Street residence. As a result of the investigation a man was arrested and charged 2 drug related offences when he was allegedly found to be in possession of a controlled substance believed to be marijuana. The total value of seized drugs and property is estimated at $1000.00.
Daniel Lamesse, 22 of Cornwall was charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of a controlled substance. He was released to appear in court on the 10th of May, 2012.
ESCAPE CUSTODY, BREACHES & MISCHIEF
Cornwall, ON- Clayton Delorme, 27 of Cornwall was arrested on the 6th of April, 2012. He as bound by a probation order with the relevant conditions not to associate, contact or hold any communicate directly or indirectly with anyone with a criminal record and to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is alleged that on the 30th of January, 2012 he borrowed a 27 year-old acquaintance’s cell phone and left without returning it. It is also alleged that on the 14th of February, 2012 he caused damage to a fence as he fled from police. He was located and charged with mischief under $5000.00, 4 counts of breach of probation order and escape lawful custody. He was held in custody until court the following day.
WARRANT
Cornwall, ON- Jacob Russell, 20 of Simcoe, Ontario, was arrested on the 5th of April, 2012 under the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged that on the 10th of May, 2011 he failed to attend court. He was located by the Ontario Provincial Police in Simcoe and turned over to members of the Cornwall Community Police Service. He was held in custody until court the following day.
BREACHES
Cornwall, ON- Richard Sawatis, 27 of Cornwall was arrested on the 6th of April, 2012. He was bound by a recognizance with the conditions of to be in his residence between the hours of 10pm-6am. He is also bound by two probation orders with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is alleged that on the 6th of April, 2012 shortly after 11:00 p.m. members of the Cornwall Community Police Service Patrol Division conducted a door knock and found him to be away from his residence. He was located and charged with breach of recognizance and breach of probation order. He was held in custody until court the following day.
Cornwall, ON- Michael Donegan, 28 of Cornwall was arrested on the 6th of April, 2012. He was bound by an undertaking with the condition to notify Cornwall Police of change of address and fail to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is alleged that he failed to notify the Cornwall Community Police Service of his change of address. He was charged with 2 counts of breach of undertaking and held in custody until court the following day.
Cornwall, ON- Marcus Vezina, 21 and Tyler Jodoin, 20 both of Cornwall were arrested on the 9th of April, 2012. They were both bound by an undertaking with the relevant conditions of no communication or contact between one another, along with keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is alleged that on the 9th of April, 2012 they were located together by a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service Patrol Division. They were both charged with 2 counts of breach of undertaking and released to appear in court on the 5th of June, 2012.
CARE & CONTROL AND OVER .80
Cornwall, ON- Christopher VanTurnhout, 40 of Cornwall was arrested in the early hours of the 7th of April, 2012. It is alleged that he had care and control of a motor vehicle at Second Street business while under the influence of alcohol. The male was arrested for care and control and transported for further testing which resulted in a charge of over .80. He was released to appear in court on the 24th of April, 2012.
DOMESTIC ASSAULT
Cornwall, ON- A 21 year-old Cornwall man was arrested on the 9th of April, 2012. It is alleged that on the 9th of April, 2012 he got into an altercation with his 21 year-old girlfriend when he assaulted her. She did not require medical treatment. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was charged with domestic assault and released to appear in court on the 29th of May, 2012. His name was not released as it may identify the victim in this incident.
