CRIMINAL HARASSMENT
Cornwall, ON- A 39-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on May 4th, 2012. He was bound by a probation order with the conditions of not to associate contact or hold any communication directly or indirectly with his ex-girlfriend and keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is alleged that since March 2012 he has been continuously contacting his 35-year-old ex-girlfriend. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was charged with Criminal Harassment and 2 counts of breach of probation order. He was held in custody until court May 7th, 2012. His name was not released as it would identify the victim.
WARRANT
Cornwall, ON- Tanya Charbonneau, 23 of Cornwall was arrested on May 4th, 2012 under the strength of an outstanding warrant. On May 4th, 2012 a surety revocation warrant was issued. She was located and held in custody until later that day.
DRUGS
Cornwall, ON- A 15-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on May 4th, 2012. It is alleged that while at school on May 4th, 2012, he was found to be in possession of a controlled substance believed to be marijuana. Police were contacted and an investigation. He was charged with possession of a controlled substance and released to appear in court on June 14th, 2012. The youth’s name was not released as per provision under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
Cornwall, ON- Anthony Murray, 27 of Cornwall was arrested on May 6th, 2012. It is alleged that on May 6th, 2012 he was found to have possession of a controlled substance believed to be marijuana. He was charged with possession of a controlled substance and released to appear in court on the 21st of June, 2012.
Cornwall, ON- A 13-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on May 6th, 2012. He was bound by a Youth Probation Order with conditions of not to possess/consume any drugs.
It is alleged that on May 6th, 2012 he was found by a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service Patrol Division to be in possession of a controlled substance believed to be marijuana. He was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance and breach of Youth Probation Order. He was released to an adult to appear in court on the 15th of June, 2012. His name was not released as per provision under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
Cornwall, ON- David McKenna, 56 of Cornwall was arrested on May 6th, 2012. It is alleged that on May 6th, 2012 he was located by a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service Patrol Division to be in the possession of controlled substance believed to be several pills and cocaine. He was charged with Possession of Controlled Substance and released to appear in court on the 22nd of May, 2012.
BREAK & ENTER ARREST
Cornwall, ON- Mindy Heerkens, 27 and David Keynen, 36 both of Cornwall were arrested on May 5th, 2012. They were found by members of the Cornwall Community Police Service Patrol Division after they unlawfully entered an Eleventh Street East business and removed property. They were charged with Possession of Break in Instruments, Break & Enter and Property Obtained by Crime under $5000.00. They were released to appear in court on June 5th, 2012.
BREACHES
Cornwall, ON- Wadia Tshilombo, 25 was arrested on May 6th, 2012. He was bound by an undertaking with the conditions of abstain from the consumption of alcohol and to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is alleged that he was found to be under the influence of alcohol. He was charged with 2 counts of breach of undertaking and released to appear in court on the 17th of May, 2012. ‘
DOMESTIC ASSAULT
Cornwall, ON- A 34-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on May 6th, 2012. She was bound by an Undertaking with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is alleged that on the 6th of May, 2012 she got into an altercation with her 38-year-old common-law husband when she assaulted him. The victim did not require medical treatment. Police were contacted and an investigation. She was charged with Domestic Assault and breach of Undertaking. She was held in custody until court the following day. Her name was not released as it would identify the victim.
Cornwall, ON- A 22-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on May 6th, 2012. He was bound by a Probation Order with relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is alleged that on May 6th, 2012 he got into an altercation with his 20-year-old girlfriend when he assaulted her on two separate occasions. The victim did not require medical treatment. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was charged with 2 counts of Domestic Assault and breach of Probation Order. He was held in custody until court the following day. His name was not released as it may identify the victim.
IMPAIRED OPERATION & OVER .80.
Cornwall, ON- Bruce Lauzon, 59, of Cornwall was arrested at approximately 6:45 p.m. on the 6th of May, 2012. It is alleged that he operated a motor vehicle on Second Street East while under the influence of alcohol. He was charged with Impaired Operation and transported for further testing which resulted in a charge of Over .80. He was released to appear in court on the 12th of June, 2012 to answer to the charges.
THEFT & BREACH
Cornwall, ON- Natalie Cole, 20 of Cornwall was arrested on May 6th, 2012. She was bound by a Probation Order with the conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is alleged that she attended a Ninth Street store and removed property without making any attempts to pay for them. She was detained by the store’s Lost Prevention Officer and turned over to a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service Patrol Division. She was charged with Theft under $5000.00 and breach of Probation Order. She was released to appear in court on the 12th of June, 2012.
DOMESTIC ASSAULT
Cornwall, ON- A 49 year-old Cornwall man was arrested on May 3rd, 2012. It is alleged that on the 22nd of April, 2012 he got into an altercation with his 49-year-old ex-girlfriend when he assaulted her on two different occasions. The victim did not require medical treatment. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was charged with 2 counts of assault and appeared in court later that day. His name was not released as it would identify the victim.
ASSAULT, ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON, THREATS & BREACHES
Cornwall, ON- Angel Gatien, 28 of Cornwall was arrested on May 3rd, 2012. She was bound by a recognizance with the pertinent conditions to reside with a surety in Barrie and not to be away from the residence without a surety. It is alleged that on the 27th of April, 2012 she got into an altercation with a 44-year-old female when she assaulted her, slammed a car door on her leg and uttered threats to cause damage to her house. The victim did not require medical treatment. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. She was charged with assault, assault with a weapon, utter threats and 2 counts of breach of recognizance. She was held in custody until court the following day.

OPP OFFICER CHARGED
(SMITHS FALLS, ON) – On May 5, 2012, members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Professional Standards Branch conducted an investigation into a domestic assault involving an OPP officer in East Region.
As a result of the investigation, a 10-year uniform member of the OPP has been arrested and charged with:
- Aggravated Assault
- Assault with a Weapon
- Mischief to Property
The victim remains in hospital with serious, non-life-threatening injuries.
He was held in custody and is scheduled to appear today, in the Ontario Court of Justice, Belleville for a bail hearing. The name and work location of the accused will not be released to protect the identity of the victim.
The officer has been suspended from duty with pay as per Section 89.1 of the Police Services Act.
CHARGE LAID
(North Glengarry) – On 04May12, at approximately 11:45pm, SD&G OPP officers had occasion to conduct a traffic stop on Highway 417, North Glengarry Township.
The stop revealed that the 46yr old male driver (Robert GRIFFIN of Montreal, QC) was operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol.
He and faces a charge of:
- Fail to Provide Breath Sample / Approved Instrument / Peace Officer / Motor Vehicle
He is scheduled to appear 22May12 in Alexandria court.
DOMESTIC INCIDENT
(South Glengarry) – On 05May12, at approximately 6:30pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic incident on Highway 401, South Glengarry Township.
The investigation revealed that a female and her ex-boyfriend were traveling west bound on Highway 401 when they became involved in a verbal altercation, which resulted in the 34yr old male (from Toronto, On) assaulting the female.
He was arrested and faces charges of:
- Assault
- Mischief – interfere with any person in the lawful use, enjoyment or operation of property
- Mischief Endangering Life
- Obstruct / Resist Peace Officer
He was held in custody pending an appearance in Cornwall court.
(North Dundas) – On 04May12, at approximately 3:30pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic incident on Ronson Road, North Dundas Township.
The investigation revealed that a female and her ex-boyfriend were involved in a verbal altercation that resulted in the male assaulting the female.
The 35yr old male was arrested and faces charges of:
- Assault
- Assault with a Weapon
- Mischief – Domestic
He is scheduled to appear 29May12 in Cornwall court.
(South Dundas) – On 06May12, at approximately 2:00pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic incident on Caldwell Drive, Iroquois On.
The investigation revealed that a female and her 30yr old boyfriend were involved in a verbal altercation that resulted in the male damaging the residence and some of the female’s property.
He was arrested and faces charges of:
- Utter Threat to Damage Property
- Mischief – Domestic
- Breach of Probation Order
He was held in custody pending an appearance in Cornwall court.
BREACHED CONDITIONS
(South Glengarry) – On 04May12, at approximately 11:30pm, SD&G OPP officers had occasion to conduct a traffic stop on Highway 401, South Glengarry Township.
The stop revealed that the 45yr old male driver (from Montreal, QC) was breaching his earlier release conditions.
He was arrested and faces charges of:
- Possession, use, traffic credit card
- Forgery of credit card
- Breach of Probation
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
He was held in custody pending an appearance in Cornwall court.
MISCHIEF
(South Dundas) – On 04May12, at approximately 7:30pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a mischief on Hulbert Road, South Dundas Township.
The investigation revealed that a 15yr old male youth had attended a residence and damaged a parked vehicle.
He was arrested and faces charges of:
- Mischief – Interfere with lawful use, enjoyment or operation of property
- Mischief Endangering Life
- Theft Under $5,000 from a Motor Vehicle
He is scheduled to appear 14Jun12 in Cornwall court.
THEFT
(North Glengarry) – On 04May12, at approximately 3:30pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a theft on Main St. Alexandria, On.
The investigation revealed that a 35yr old male (Travis RENAUD of Alexandria, On) had removed two items from a local business.
He was arrested and faces a charge of:
- Theft Under $5,000
