ASSAULT
Cornwall, ON- A 16-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on February 5th, 2013. It is alleged that on December 20th, 2012 she was involved in an altercation when she assaulted a 16-year-old male. The male suffered minor injuries. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. She was charged with assault and released to an adult to appear in court on March 7th, 2013. Her name was not released as per provision under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
THEFT
Cornwall, ON- A 21-year-old man of Cornwall was arrested on February 5th, 2013. It is alleged that in January 2013 he caused damaged to property and removed items from his grandparents residence. It is also alleged that on February 5th, 2013 he removed a 32” television. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was charged with 3 counts of Theft under $5000 and mischief under $5000. He was held in custody until court the following day. His name was not released as it would identify the victims.
DRUG & BREACHES
Cornwall, ON- Brian Gowan, 49 of Cornwall was arrested on February 5th, 2013. He was bound by a Recognizance with the conditions to not possess any substance listed in the CDSA and also not possess or acquire any pagers, cell phones or potable communication devices. It is alleged that on February 5th, 2013 he was found to be in the possession of a controlled substance believed to be cocaine and a cell phone. He was charged with Possession of a controlled substance and 2 counts of Fail to Comply with Recognizance. He was released to appear in court on March 28th, 2013.
BREACH
Cornwall, ON- Sierra Aspirot, 19 of Cornwall was arrested on February 5th, 2013. She was bound by a Recognizance with the conditions to reside at a specific address with surety and abide by the rules of that residence and not be away from the residence between 9pm-6am except as follows: in direct presence of surety or while engaged in employment or going directly to and from. It is alleged that on February 5th, 2013 she left the residence after 9pm and failed to follow the rules. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. She was charged with 2 counts of Fail to Comply with Recognizance and held in custody until court the following day.
DOMESTIC ASSAULT
Cornwall, ON- A 39-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on February 6th, 2013. It is alleged that on February 5th and 6th, 2013 he got into an altercation with his 34-year-old girlfriend when he assaulted her. The victim did not require medical treatment. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. During the investigation, he allegedly obstructed police by impeding the investigation. He was charged with 2 counts of Domestic Assault and Obstruct Police. He was held in custody until court the following day. His name was not released as it would identify the victim.
BREAK & ENTER
Cornwall, ON- The Cornwall Community Police Service is currently investigating a Break & Enter that occurred on February 5th, 2013 at a McConnell Avenue residence. The suspect(s) gained entry and removed 40” Samsung LCD TV, a 42” LG flat screen TV, a 32” Visio flat screen TV and a Apple iPod 32GB silver in colour.
