FATAL SNOWMOBILE COLLISION
(South Stormont) – On February 11th, 2014 at approximately 11:30pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a collision involving a snowmobile on a trail located near Shaver Road and Colonial Drive, South Stormont Township.
Investigation indicates that the snowmobile, carrying two occupants, was northbound on the trail when the driver lost control rounding a curve causing both occupants to be ejected. The male passenger, Daniel ANDRE (21) of South Stormont, struck a tree and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The 22 year old male driver of South Stormont was arrested and is charged with;
– Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle Causing Death
– Exceed 80 Milligrams Blood Alcohol Content
– Possession of a Controlled Substance (marihuana)
He was held in custody and appears in Cornwall court this date.
