KURTIS CLARKE of Cornwall Ontario Banned 15 Years Owning Animals Failing to Provide Dogs with Veterinary Care

ospcaCORNWALL, Ontario  (December 16, 2014) – On November 26, 2014, Kurtis Clarke of Cornwall, Ontario, was found guilty of six counts of animal cruelty under the Ontario SPCA Act.

The charges included:

  • Two counts of causing distress to an animal
  • Two counts of permitting distress to an animal
  • Two counts of failing to provide veterinary medical attention

On July 25, 2014, Mr. Clarke called the Ontario SPCA stating that his dog was vomiting, had diarrhea and was lethargic. Ontario SPCA Officers made arrangements to have the dog immediately transported to the Ontario SPCA Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry Branch. The dog was deceased upon arrival.

An Ontario SPCA Officer later attended Mr. Clarke’s residence to speak to him about the deceased dog. Mr. Clarke did not answer but a foul smell of dirt and blood, typically associated with canine parvovirus, was observed. There was also blood smeared on the door. Officers also heard another dog barking inside the residence.

On July 28, 2014, Ontario SPCA Officers received a voicemail from Mr. Clarke stating that his second dog was now vomiting and had bloody diarrhea. He stated that he had no money to treat the dog and wanted to surrender it to the Ontario SPCA.

Upon arrival to collect the dog, it was deceased. Mr. Clarke informed Ontario SPCA Officers that neither of the dogs had been vaccinated, and admitted he had not sought medical treatment for either of them.

Mr. Clarke was sentenced to a 15-year prohibition from living with, caring for or owning any animals. He also received two years probation in which he must report a change of address to the Ontario SPCA and must allow Ontario SPCA Officers access to his property to ensure compliance. Mr. Clarke was also fined $1,200.

“The Ontario SPCA reminds pet owners that if you have concerns for the welfare of your animal, there are alternatives other than allowing an animal to go without adequate care,” says Steve Toy, Senior Inspector.

  1. This guy should be banned for life from living with any animals!! He knew they were sick and should have asked for advice and/or medical help sooner. Obviously if the first dog was that ill and deceased when he did finally seek help he should have spoke up about the other dog and he didn’t. He knowingly allowed this other dog to suffer from neglect and if he was unable to afford veterinary care he should have sought out alternative accommodations for this dog. Dogs dont only need food and water and shelter, they also need love, attention and medical care, preventative and for illnesses. This guy is a lowlife and should be BANNED FOR LIFE, this is just a slap on the wrist.

  2. What about OHIP for animals? Add them to social assistance – the check is in the mail, then they will get the proper care that they deserve. Should this “lowlife” be brought up on charges of “murder”?

The World Wide abortion counters uses one of the more conservative estimates on the number of abortions world-wide since 1980 (40 Million per year for 30years) and this equals 1,200,000 Billion (from Lifesitenews.com: http://www.lifesitenews.com/ldn/2009/oct/09101604.html )

PS – don’t take this as to believe that I think cruelty to animals is acceptable, not for a moment. Shouldn’t “the Human animal”, as evolutionist believe, get even a chance? No outcry of cruelty? No charges of murder?

  3. PTN….Why did tou turn a story about animal cruelty into concerns about abortions?

  4. Pastor Newton all life is precious as you and I know and there is something in the Bible about murder under the alter or something like that. There is something that a lot of people are not aware of and that is human sacrifice and that is what abortion is about and that is what that term is about and is a dreadful sin and those who abort are going to hell.

About animals nobody should own a pet if they are not financially well. It costs a bundle of money to keep dog or a cat or any animal going in food, veterinary bills, etc. You also have to be very clean in your home and always keep the place thoroughly spotless. If one cannot afford a pet then you don’t go and get one because the responsibilities are great almost like having a child.

  5. Sounds like Mr. Clarke might have some mental issues. Very sad indeed.

  6. Jules -“If one cannot afford a pet then you don’t go and get one because the responsibilities are great almost like having a child”.

No, I would not go that far. Cruelty to animals is just a symptom of a heart that does not fear God. Think about it? No respect, or a low respect for life overall is a clear sign that since we are animals, evolved from lower species, and since there is no god, well, inhumane treatment is what would be consider normal. We are animals acting as animals – nothing more or less. And to have an inordinate concern for the life and well being of animals while aborting millions of babies, is demonic, to say the least.

Modern man likes the theory that there is no god, so he can be as wicked as he or she wants to be while being their own god. Dr. Furtz in his evaluation is acting as a god – determining what is morally(what is humane) acceptable. The problem with Dr. Furtz’s evaluation is that it is based upon a faulty human reasoning and man made human standard. We, as a race, have not the innate ability to rise about the “norm”. Sad to say the “norm” is increasing being corrupted and lowered as time goes on. It is not evolution, but de-evolution.We find this same mind set back in Nazi Germany – the superior race, and the removal of the “mental cases”, and that for the good, or the advancement of all society – New World order stuff!

The heart of the problem – there is no fear of God in our hearts, so we have no respect for the Life Giver and for life itself – in all its forms.

“The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good. The LORD looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God. They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one”(Psa 14:1-3)

  7. PTN – how is it you can turn any discussion into your views on modern man should be?
