CORNWALL Ontario – River Kings veteran forward Francis Lessard returns to the lineup this evening as Cornwall hosts Laval at the Civic Complex. The puck drops at 7:30 p.m.
Head coach Bob Desjardins is asking local hockey fans to come out and support their team like they’ve done in past seasons.
“Cornwall is a hockey town and we need the support now,” said Desjardins. “If the fans show up, there will be a show.”
The veteran bench boss would love to see more fans in the stands on Saturday evening.
“I remember the old times, it was tough to come to Cornwall and win,” said Desjardins. “It was intimidating to play here and the fans were a big part of that.”
The first 250 fans on Saturday night will receive a free River Kings foam puck. There will also be a free raffle for a 32” LCD television.
“Steve Moreau is a great owner and the family is doing everything possible to make this work,” said Desjardins. “It’s time to give back to the owner and I promise the fans will see a great game, which is what they deserve.”
