Kingston Police Seeking Assistance in Locating Missing Woman

Kingston Police are seeking the public’s assistance in locating a missing woman. Emily Clermont was reported missing on August 13, 2017 by a family member.
She is believed to be somewhere in the Kingston area. Family and police are concerned for her well-being.
Clermont is a Caucasian female, 20-years-old, 5’4”, 115lbs, short red hair.

Kingston Police had 349 calls for service over the weekend of August 11-13, 2017. Of these, 240 calls occurred in the city central area, 58 in the west end, 8 in the east end, and 14 north of Highway 401. Some of these included:

There were 20 individuals arrested over the weekend of August 11-13, 2017 including 12 men and 8 women, between # and # years of age, for the following: theft, possession of break and enter tools, utter threats, possession of a weapon, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, harassment, assault, mischief, transportation fraud, public intoxication, breach undertaking, breach recognizance, and breach probation. There were seven persons arrested on outstanding warrants.

Man Arrested when Officers catch him in the Act of Picking a Lock

A 35-year-old local man was arrested when officers caught him in the act of attempting to pick a lock and steal a bicycle frame.
On August 13, 2017 at approximately 8:15 p.m. officers observed the accused crouched down inside a parking garage on Brock Street. The accused was next to a bike rack and appeared to be attempting to unlock a bicycle frame. As officers approached they observed he had a lock pick in his hand.
The accused was arrested and during a search officers found tools commonly associated with break and enter.
The accused was transported to police headquarters where he was held to attend a bail hearing the following day.
The accused was charged with theft, possession of break and enter tools and breach of probation.
Man Arrested after Threats to Ex and Her Friends

A 22-year-old local man was arrested after he threatened his ex-girlfriend and then her friends the next morning.
On August 12, 2017 at approximately 10:30 a.m. the accused came across two females known to him while walking on Queen Mary Road. The accused was on probation with conditions that included no contact with the two females, who were friends of his ex-girlfriend. Despite his conditions the accused approached. The accused was clearly angry and threatened to slit their throats if they hung out with his ex-girlfriend. The victims observed a knife in his waist band before he left.
Police were called and as officers arrived another call regarding the accused came in. The ex-girlfriend reported he was now banging on her patio door. Officers attended and arrested the accused. During a search officers found a small quantity of suspected cocaine. The officers learned the accused had also threatened his ex-girlfriend the night before and damaged her screen door a week earlier.
The accused was transported to police headquarters where he was held to attend a bail hearing the following day.
The accused was charged with three counts of utter threats, possession of a weapon, mischief, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, and five counts of breach probation.

Woman Arrested Twice Over the Weekend

A 39-year-old local woman was arrested twice over the weekend after ignoring police warnings and then a court order.
On May 12, 2017 the complainant reported on-going harassment by the accused. On several occasions the accused attended the complainant’s residence uninvited. The accused would bang on the door and yell out for a male party who now resided with the complainant. Police located the accused and warned her to stay away or potentially face criminal charges.
The accused ignored police warnings showing up at the complainant’s residence on July 29 and again on August 10, 2017.
On August 12, 2017 officers located the accused on Alfred Street and arrested her without incident. The accused was released later that date by the courts on a recognizance with conditions that included no contact with the victim or the male party.
The accused ignored the court conditions and at approximately 3:00 p.m. she began texting the male party and attempted to call him.
On August 13, 2017 the accused turned herself in and she was held to attend another bail hearing.
The accused was charged with two counts of harassment, and breach recognizance.
Victim Threatened to Not Report Assault

A 33-year-old local man was arrested after allegedly assaulting his common-law and threatening to have her killed if she reported the incident.
On August 9, 2017 the accused and victim were in there residence. During an argument the accused suddenly became violent, punching and attacking the victim before leaving. On August 10, 2017 the accused threatened to have the victim killed if she contacted police.
On August 11, 2017 police learned about the assault and threat. Further investigation revealed a previous assault in the fall of 2016.
On August 12, 2017 a patrol officer observed a male riding a motorcycle on Princess Street. The officer conducted a check on the bike which revealed the male rider was the accused and was also a suspended driver. The officer stopped the motorcycle and arrested the accused.
The accused was transported to police headquarters where he was held to attend a bail hearing.
The accused was charged with two counts of assault, utter threats and drive suspend under the Highway Traffic Act.
