ASSAULT
Cornwall, ON – A 45-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on May 31st, 2019 and charged with assault. It is alleged during an unrelated investigation it was learned that during an argument on May 26th, 2019 the woman assaulted her common law husband. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on June 11th, 2019. Her name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
BREAK AND ENTER
Cornwall, ON – A 14-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on June 1st, 2019 and charged with break and enter. It is alleged on April 24th, 2019 the youth for forced her way into the Bandshell and police were called to investigate. During the investigation the youth was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. Her name was not released as per the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
IMPAIRED, OVER 80, RESIST ARREST, ASSAULT POLICE, DISARMING POLICE OFFICER
Cornwall, ON – Robert Martin, 21 of Cornwall was arrested on June 2nd, 2019 and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle, over 80, assault police, resist arrest and disarming a police officer. It is alleged in the early morning hours of June 2nd, 2019 the man was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol when he was involved in a collision. Police attended the area, attempted to place the male under arrest and a brief struggle ensued. During the struggle, the man spit on the officer and attempted to reach for the officer’s firearm. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
ARSON
Cornwall, ON – Cody Shaw, 29 of Lunenburg was arrested on June 2nd, 2019 and charged with arson. It is alleged in the early morning hours of June 2nd, 2019 the man lit a pickup truck on fire in the area of Thirteenth Street and Henry Street. Police attended the area and an investigation ensued. During the investigation the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on July 11th, 2019.

BREAK AND ENTER, CRIMINAL HARASSMENT
Cornwall, ON – A 25-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on May 30th, 2019 and charged with break and enter and criminal harassment. It is alleged on May 29th, 2019 the man entered his ex-girlfriend’s residence without permission despite having been warned by police not to communicate with her. Police were contacted and the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
ASSAULT, OVERCOME RESISTANCE
Cornwall, ON – A 35-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on May 30th, 2019 and charged with assault and overcome resistance ( choking). It is alleged during an argument on May 30th, 2019 the man assaulted and choked his common-law wife. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
ASSAULT, ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON, CRUELTY TO ANIMALS
Cornwall, ON – A 37-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on May 30th, 2019 and charged with assault X11, assault with a weapon and cruelty to animals. It is alleged between 2016 and 2018 the man repeatedly assaulted his step children and on one occasion assaulted one of the children with a belt. It is also alleged the man assaulted the family dog. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On May 30th, 2019 the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
WARRANT, MISCHIEF
Cornwall, ON – Mitchell Berube, 24 of Cornwall was arrested on May 30th, 2019 on the strength of a warrant and charged with mischief. It is alleged on May 30th, 2019 the man who was wanted on a warrant for breaching his recognizance conditions was spotted by a member of the Cornwall Police Service doing graffiti on the wall of the Justice Building. He was taken into custody after a brief foot chase, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. Justin Gibson, 20 of Cornwall was also taken into custody and charged with mischief.
WARRANT
Cornwall, ON – Rebecca Dillabaugh, 39 of Cornwall was arrested on May 30th, 2019 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the woman failed to attend court on May 23rd, 2019 for an assault charge and a warrant was issued for her arrest. On May 30th, 2019 the woman was spotted by a member of the Cornwall Police Service. She was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and released to appear in court on June 27th, 2019.
