Newington ON – Hartene Farms was the location of the Stormont Holstein Club’s Family night. It was a perfect evening for the event and over 300 people attended. The food was served by the Cornwall Lion’s club and included roast beef, pork, and Turkey with all the fixings. It was a diverse and interesting evening and I’ve never seen such a clean barn. Even the cows were getting into the festivities as you can see from the picture above.
Farmer’s feed family and Wyatt McWilliams of Food Aid; an interesting program that raises money to purchase cows and then donate the meat to food banks spoke.

The event was at the home of South Stormont Deputy Mayor Tammy Hart and her husband Dave who were presented with a sign from the club.

A good time was had by all and its amazing how much farming has changed over the years…. There’s more to eating than popping into the grocery stores!
