Cornwall ON –  Laurie McRae Bingley owns a local theatre company and she sent in this missive after raising $2,200 for the Canadian Red Cross Japan Relief with performances of her Murder Mystery – Murder at the 19th Hole!

Hi Jamie,
I’m the owner of this theatre company mentioned in my article – I write, direct and perform in the shows. but my main detective for  several years Ian Callan is a great friend and that inspired me to organize an event to raise money for Japan.

.
He lived in Japan for 10 years and has since been back in Cornwall approx another 10 years-with his wife and 2 children – They have always gone home to see her family ( who thank goodness are all safe) but of course this summer was going to be a different scene to return to.

I’m hoping you can publish the results of our event held on May 13th- so that all who were involved can read that their hard work paid off.

Here are the results of the Murder mystery evening held to raise funds for Japan on May 13th. We raised a net total of  $2200.00 thanks to approximately 110 people who attended the event, all the local businesses that donated to the silent auction, Leisure Sound for the sound equipment,Jolly Tours and Travel for donating the grand prize of a trip for 2 to see Celtic Thunder in Ottawa, the entire cast of “Murder on the Funny Side Theatre Productions” and other volunteers behind the scenes during the performance of “Murder at the 19th Hole”

We presented  a cheque to the Red Cross in the amount of $2200.00 as result of a fun filled evening solving a murder case at “the watering hole of a golf course”.

In addition to the cheque presentation- Ian and  Kyoko Callan and their two children will still make their annual trip to Japan this summer to visit family; however this trip will be to see what aid they can bring to the area instead of just a pleasure visit.

Thank you Jamie

Laurie

And thank you Laurie and all those that helped you raise those amazing dollars for such a good cause!
