The president of The Art Gallery (TAG) is pleased to announce a well-established media professional and entrepreneur has agreed to join the board of directors of TAG.
Roland Besner has announced Kevin Lamoureux will be attending his first full board meeting February 16.
Lamoureux is president and CEO of KAV Productions Inc. who has worked successfully with numerous organizations in many roles including media production, project management, consulting, marketing and business administration. He boasts of a BA in Communications from the University of Ottawa and is a member of SOCAN, an artist’s organization.
After graduating in 1986, his first full time position was as Executive Director of the Seaway Valley Tourism Association. He later became involved with other boards including the St. Lawrence Parks Commission and The St. Lawrence Remedial Action Plan’s Public Advisory Committee.
In 1993 Lamoureux expanded KAV, where he identified there would be a wide range of opportunities across the spectrum of artistic disciplines and new technology.
Besner says he is excited at Lamoureux’s decision to join TAG board of directors. Besner says it is one of his dreams to move the Art Gallery from a focus on paintings and photos to include other forms of art.
He feels the new director will have the contacts and wherewithal to meet that goal.
Lamoureux is replacing Greg Kielec who submitted his resignation from the board for personal reasons earlier this month.
Besner expressed regret at the loss to the arts community but wished Kielec all the best in future hoping that perhaps he will find other ways to assist TAG.
