(Ottawa)—On April 25th 2017, the Ottawa Police Drug Unit executed a Controlled Drugs and Substance Act search warrant at an apartment in the 1400 block of Caldwell Avenue.

As a result of the investigation, officers recovered over 15 grams of Fentanyl powder with a street value of over $7000.

Royston CHRISTIE, 60 years old of Ottawa is charged as follows:

  • CDSA 5(2) – Possession for the purpose of trafficking Schedule I
  • CDSA 4(1) – Possession of a controlled substance Schedule I
  • CC 354(1)(a) – Possession of proceeds of crime

Five other people – three (3) females and two (2) males aged between 28 and 49 years old – are also wanted in connection with this ongoing investigation.

“It’s clear that Fentanyl is becoming more available in our city and we continue to focus enforcement efforts against the trafficking of this drug,” said S/Sgt Rick Carey of the Ottawa Police Drug Unit. “We have already seen an increase in overdoses and it’s important that residents are aware of the dangers of these types of drugs, whether in powder form or as counterfeit pills.”

Caldwell Avenue is low income housing in Ottawa’s west end and one of the very worst places to ever be. Drugs, drunks and you name it about all the rats from two legs and four legs and more that can crawl out of that hole.
