UPDATE 8:41 PM
Poirier’s Furniture is on fire. Flames shooting from roof. Call the insurance company!
Four buildings burnt, others damaged. Was the response by firefighters enough? Could the fire have been less damaging or was it simply too dense an area?
The Response
The incident quickly escalated to 3 buildings including two multi-residential units and a furniture store. 27 firefighters were called in, in addition to the 10 initial fire personnel. 2 fire prevention officers, 1 mechanic & 1 fire chief also responded to the fire.— City of Cornwall (@CityofCornwall) July 27, 2018
I was driving down McConnell earlier and there were police cars blocking off the intersection on Montreal road.
