Pride/Fierté Cornwall’s 2009 Spring Fling is set for Friday, May 29th at 9:00 pm. Yes, you read that right – it’s on a Friday night, not a Saturday. Another change is that we’ve lowered the admission price to a recession busting $5.00. We’ll also be giving you a little taste of what’s in store for our Retro Game Show Night which we’ll be staging in August. If you’re lucky, you’ll be asked to “come on down,” so get ready cuz it might be YOU!In a more serious vein, this year’s Denise and Louis Latulippe Award will be presented too. Named after the founders of the Cornwall chapter of PFLAG, it goes to the person in the community who has done the most to promote tolerance and acceptance of LGBT people in Cornwall over the past twelve months. This fundraiser will be in familiar territory at the Army/Navy/Air Force Veterans’ Club, 14 Marlborough Street North. (Hit this Mapquest link if you’re coming from out of town.) The doors open at 9:00 pm and you must be of legal drinking age (19) for admittance. Lady DJ Sly, who spun the tunes at our Valentine’s Bash last February, will be behind the mixing desk again to play all your favourites and keep you gyrating all night long. And as always, you can win stuff with our 50/50 and door prize draws.
