Andre Marc Fleury caressed his cross bar in the dying minutes of last night’s 2-1 victory for the Pittsburgh Penguins.
The ping was heard around the world as what would’ve been the tying goal ricocheted away in what ultimately would unthrone the defending Stanley Cup champion Detroit Red Wings.
Marion Hossa was a bust and his decision to leave the Penguins for Detroit blew up in his face. It didn’t help much that he was a non entity in the series. Sydney Crosby had to watch most of the 3rd period from the bench after hurting his knee.
This game was about Max Talbot who scored both Pittsburgh goals and a very lucky and determined Fleury who held his team in the game including a dying seconds save off of a Niklas Lindstrom shot.
