New Direction for Healthy Rhythm Coalition
The Healthy Rhythm Coalition is a group of community members interested in supporting local communities in adopting healthy lifestyles. The group’s specific focus is on cardiovascular wellness with a primary emphasis on the promotion of physical activity, healthy eating and tobacco prevention and control.
The Coalition started as an initiative brought about by the Ontario Ministry of Health. Since 1998, various community partners collaborated with the Coalition to implement local programming targeting adults and children in their own environment.
The Coalition is now looking for members of the public or representatives of local organizations to join them for the new multi-year phase which will target new complimentary areas of direction in mental health, injury prevention and substance abuse.
A meeting is scheduled for Tuesday October 27 at 9 a.m. at the Bonnie Glen in Alexandria. Join the Coalition for an exciting opportunity to make your community healthier.
Coalition members: Jean Pamphile, Eastern Ontario Health Unit, Jean Courville, Carefor, Louise Simmons, Eastern Ontario Health Unit, Sandra Collette, Carefor, Claire Diamond, Hawkesbury & District General Hospital, standing: Micheline Turnau, Heart and Stroke Foundation.
