Local Provincial NDP Riding Association to Hold Fundraiser Wine & Cheese
With Andrea Horwath as Special Guest
Brian Lynch, President of SDSG Provincial NDP Riding Association, has announced that the local provincial NDP riding association will be holding a fundraiser Wine & Cheese on Sunday November 29 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the RCAF Wing 424, 240 Water St., West, Cornwall. The Wine & Cheese will also feature a silent auction, which will have a variety of items , and door prizes.
Lynch stated: “We are delighted that Ontario NDP leader Andrea Horwath, MPP for Hamilton Centre, will be the special guest at the Wine & Cheese, Silent Auction.”
Lynch said that Horwath has been a dedicated community activist all her adult life, first as a community development worker in Hamilton, then as a city councillor in Hamilton from 1997 to 2004, and now as an MPP in the Ontario Legislature since May 2004 and as leader of the Ontario NDP since March 7, 2009. Lynch explained : “Among Andrea Horwath’s many achievements, her Bill 111 calling for the provincial government to compensate firefighters for their occupational diseases received the rare privilege of being adopted into law as a government bill on May 3, 2007.”
Lynch indicated that everyone is invited to attend the Wine & Cheese, Silent Auction for a memorable afternoon of fun and fellowship.
Lynch further explained: “This will also be an excellent opportunity to meet with Andrea Horwath and to learn more about Ontario NDP policies and initiatives to sustain and create good jobs in the new energy economy, to enhance public health care and education, to reduce poverty, to assist seniors, and to fight against the new Harmonized Sales Tax (HST).”
