Spirit of a City CD to Be Released

Local musicians join together to release a compilation CD to raise funds for the Cornwall Community Hospital Foundation

A compilation CD featuring many Cornwall and area musicians will be released on November 7, 2009 at DreambuilderStudios in Cornwall, Ontario.

Entitled Spirit of a City, the CD features 16 songs performed by Graham Greer, Nancy Beaudette, Medius, The Shiners, The Brigadoons, Trench Town Oddities, Sara Murphy, Straw Dogs, Freudhammer, Therese Motard, MC Entertainment, Paul-Andre Durocher, Stephanie Coleman, Superstone, Elite World Artist and The General Electryk.

“This project will not only highlight the diverse talent we have here in the Cornwall area, but it will also raise much-needed funds for a worthy cause”, said local musician Sara Murphy, who organized the CD project.

Several genres of music are represented on the CD, which has been supported by a variety of community sponsors, including Team Cornwall, IndieGuitars/DreamBuilderStudios, Latour Wealth Management, Schnitzel’s European Flavours,  WEBtech and the City of Cornwall. Each of the artists featured on the CD donated a song.

All proceeds from the sale of the CD will go to the Cornwall Community Hospital Foundation.

A CD Release Event will be held on November 7th at 8:00pm, at Indie Guitars / DreamBuilderStudios at 2107 Second Street West. The night will feature live performances by Stephanie Coleman, Graham Greer, The General Electryk and Trench Town Oddities.  The event will feature a cash bar and refreshments, courtesy of Moustache Joe’s.

Tickets for the CD Release Event will be $20.00 in advance or $25.00 at the door, and include a copy of the CD. Tickets are available at Scotiabank Cornwall, 960 Brookdale Avenue in Cornwall.

CD’s will be available for purchase starting November 8th at a variety of retailers in and around Cornwall.
