Jaroslav Halak keeps building his value; not only to the Montreal Canadiens, but to other NHL GM’s. Last season he was a key factor in the Habs making the play offs, but was sidelined so that the team could pump up Carey Price which resulted in a first round exit.
Now; if he’s not traded it may look like he’s going to have to be a key factor for the team getting into the play offs this year. If that happens will he again be sidelined?
Some people complain about the goalie situation here. It’s not that bad. It could be worse. It could be Toronto; or Philadelphia.
And it’s not like Carey Price has played that badly. He just needs to inspire whatever it takes to get wins from the rest of the team. Last night the Habs scored six against the Rangers who have finally cooled off. They’re also back in 8th place in the conference which is a ticket to the party if the season ended today.
Two Mike Cammallieri goals, Scott Gomez, Max Lapierre, Tomas Plekanec, and Benoit Pouilot also potted for Montreal.
Matt Darche picked up an assist. You have to root for those guys that get their shot in the NHL and make the most of it.
And Kudo’s to Ryan O’Byrne for fighting Aaron Voros and manning it up. It looks like the team may actually get tougher with Big George gone. And yes, Montreal was out shot by the Rangers, but it seems that it’s the teams secret recipe to winning.
