It’s sexy. Not sure if it’ll work, but it’s exciting; especially as the editor of an online newspaper. We already have a lot of you who read our paper on your Blackberry or iPhone. This exciting development could lead to smaller eye glass and contact lens bills for many of us.
The iPad has a 9.7 inch screen. It looks like a bigger version of an iPhone, but does more. Could it be the solution to those of us who need or want small, but still want function? So far the stock market thinks so as Apple’s price jumped today.
My concern is Apple’s quest to make their dollars on content. There are a lot of people that want the consumer to pay more for web content. Right now, if you’re reading this it’s not costing you anything other than your internet usage cost which can be as little as free if you’re at a library or wi-fi spot or as much as some companies can get away with.
Many companies like Rupert Murdoch’s Fox want to monetize content not happy with simply charging for advertising.
It should be interesting to see if this device is a tool in ending the virtual freedom of the internet or just another hot item that doesn’t quite work like it should….

I think it’s a “like to have” rather than a “need to have” but eventually it will become a “want to have” and we’ll buy one.
