New Orleans 31 Indianapolis 17 – Saints Win Super Bowl 44 – Quarter Back Drew Brees Leads way going 32-39 – February 8, 2010

When you complete 32 of 39 passes you usually win the game.    When you do it in the Super Bowl you become a legend.  New Orleans Saints Quarterback Drew Brees became a legend Super Bowl Sunday number 44 as he led The Saints to their first Super Bowl victory ever over Peyton Manning and the favorite Indianapolis Colts.

Where you as weirded out watching The Who at half time as I was?  Pete Townsend and Roger Daltrey both looked good for their ages, and Pete really looked to be having fun; but geriatrics singing about teenage wastelands felt very weird.  I mean when I worked in radio in 1982 these guys were kinda already long in the tooth….

“On paper” is a cliché, and The Saints proved that patience and guts, and going for it when it counts can in fact overcome any adversity.   I loved their onside kick to lead off the quarter and going for it on 4th and 1 in the 2nd quarter showed a lot of testicular fortitude as well.

Congrats to the City of  N’Orleans.   I couldn’t think of a more deserving city to host a party and win their first Super Bowl!
