COLTS ROLL OUT RED CARPET FOR 3+1 PROJECT 2010
AND ONE LUCKY PERSON COULD WIN A NEW FORD ESCAPE
Cornwall Ontario – The Cornwall Colts have dedicated one of their home games to Project 2010.
“Champions of the Cause Night” takes place Thursday, March 4th when the Colts host the Gloucester Rangers.
Fans attending the game can purchase a $2 ticket for a chance to shoot and win a new 2010 Ford Escape (valued at $25,000.00) courtesy Miller Hughes Ford with all proceeds going to the 3 + 1 Project 2010. As well, a portion of the gate receipts from that night will be donated.
Students and children under 16 years old who wear any sports jersey will get free admission to the game.
“The Cornwall Colts are fully supportive of Project 2010,” said Colts Business Operations Manager Mike Piquette. “The three new ice pads (and Jiffy Field House) will help secure the future of minor sports in Cornwall and area for years to come.”
“We’re excited that one lucky person could walk out of the Ed Lumley Arena the proud owner of a brand new vehicle,” said Project 2010 Chairman Scott Lecky.
“We hope to draw a huge crowd to cheer on the Colts and help throw their support behind this amazing project,” continued Lecky. “We have some great sponsors who have allowed us the opportunity to create an amazing family event with all kids under 16 getting in free.”
Project 2010 has a goal to raise $2 Million as the community’s portion of the initiative. So far more than $1.1 Million has been pledged.
The new Cornwall Sportsplex will be developed on lands between Seventh Street West and Second Street West.
The facility will boast 3 NHL sized ice pads, a field house and tennis court while the list of amenities includes a committee room, lounge, concessions and more.
Aside from being a positive economic impact on Cornwall and area, Project 2010 will also encourage a healthy lifestyle for local residents.
