The streets in Vancouver are alive with action.  They estimate about 150,000 people a night at Robson and Granville.  This is a video showing the crowds and the”Zip Line” on Robson St.  This clip was taken at about 9:00 p.m., and the party is just getting started.

People make their way into the city just to be part of the action.  The Mayor and the Police Chief have appealed for calm and asked that people party responsibly.

Liquor stores in the downtown area were “locked down” at 7:00 p.m. in an effort to keep things under control.  Some people were upset because it forced them to go into bars and pay higher prices for a drink.”

Sounds like a wild time in Vancouver for Cornwall’s busiest city councilor.    Mark should be back for the first council meeting in March.

  1. With Mark MacDonald “volunteering” at the Olympics, hopefully this is not going to cost the taxpayers anything. Will it?
