Halak Shallacked by Washington 5-1 – Boston Edges Vankeless Sabres – Kings Crown Canucks 5-3 – NHL Scores – Cornwall Ontario – April 20, 2010

Cornwall ON – There is no shame in losing to the first seed when you’re the eighth.  Frankly you aren’t supposed to win.  You’re supposed to enjoy the play offs for your round and bow out which looks like what the Habs are going to do as they edge one day closer to tee time.

Last night was not a close game.   Les Boys came out spirited and led the first period in shots, but a short handed goal by Washington ended that confidence.   Three more Caps goals most likely ended Montreal’s season.

Tomas Plekanec popped a goal in the third period ruining Semyon Varlamov’s shut out.   Mr. Ovechkin was held to one shot however that one hit the back of the net.    The Caps are not a very easy team to play as they can beat you in so many ways.

NHL SCORES

In other Play Off matches Boston took a 2 games to 1 lead over Buffalo with their 2-1 win after 73 year old Mark Recchi won a footrace and battle with a rookie probably not born before he started his career,  before putting a pass on Patrice Bergeron’s stick which resulted in the game winning goal.     Los Angles gained the upper hand in their series with a 5-3 victory over the Canucks.
