Summer Company student Rebecca Runions – Reel Thing Productions – Cornwall Ontario – August 2, 2010

Cornwall ON – Summer Company is a super program that gives young people a chance to create their own business for the Summer.

Not only are they given some funding; they’re given mentors and training.    Cornwall has a super program with a lot of great local support.   Some of the students for example are at the Cornwall Farmers’ Market Saturday mornings and we’re going to feature the students and give them an opportunity to shine!

Rebecca Skye Runions business is Reel Thing Productions. She does film and sound recording with high end equipment (THE BEST OF THE BEST) She does everything from corporate videos to weddings and special occasions and has already profiled different events and organizations so these same people would have a professional dvd to send out to promote themselves.

The weddings are literally recorded as small movies with beautiful music. Something to last a life time. She also records local musicians and bands and can even make radio/tv jingles.

Rebecca is also using her television contacts to produce a seventeen part children’s show right here out of Cornwall. She has  already been approached by a number of well known agencies and other production companies looking to get on board.

She also is working with local professionals and local talent from the community to produce a substance abuse DVD for schools.

This character education film will show the real life effects and downsides of substance abuse. It features a number of young people (some actors, some kids who have experimented with different drugs.) all tell a strong story of when they first tried drugs and how their life changed.

This film is the reel thing, I hope that it will make a difference in people lives. With all the local talent we have in this city, we know we can make it great!

I heard about your drug video (I saw you taping in Ottawa) and your kids show and yes Rebecca, people can develop a good show out of a small town. it looks like you are well on your way, but I would like to send you some dvd cartoons to add to your show if you like them. much of my work has been on TV and I would like to give you a hand. (in other words) I know a lot of people in the busness.

    dear Rebecca
I had the pleasure of hearing you sing a year ago at the Jazz Festival. I was truly amazed at how well and precise you embodied many of the Jazz standards. I wish you the best and will be following your career. I am in a position that I may be able to lend a hand but by doing this I will definitely go through your parents. Regards, Luc
