Focus Art : New Status and Year for Cornwall Ontario Based Regional Artist Association – August 20, 2010

New Status and Year for Cornwall Based Regional Artist Association

Cornwall ON – L’Association Focus Art Association is pleased to officially announce their incorporation as a Non-profit Incorporation.  Association President Sandra Taylor-Hedges shares that “this will give the association admittance to apply for public funds available specifically for non-profits in the Arts Arena.

We are looking forward to accessing some of these funds for the benefit of our Membership and community”. Established in 2004, this Eastern Ontario Visual Art Association has blossomed into an Art Networking group of approximately 100 members.

L’Association Focus Art Association’s mandate is to:

-Promote the visual arts, especially painting, photography, pottery and sculpture in the area of Eastern Ontario, in English and French.

-Offer residents of Eastern Ontario the possibility of discovering works of art, this by means of organized activities such as exhibitions.

-Offer artists of Eastern Ontario opportunities to create works of art. -Offer artists of all origins opportunities to have their art known by residents of Eastern Ontario.

– Actualize all other objectives compatible with these objectives.

“Our new networking year begins this September 1st” said Taylor.  “Our first meeting of the season will feature the considerable talents of Eastern Ontario fibre artist Karen Goetzinger.  This will take place at our home base of 146 Chévrier Ave., Suite 122, Cornwall, Ontario.

This is located in the Centre Charles-Emile Claude just behind Trinity Church.  Our meeting begins at 7 p.m.  As our September meeting is the time for members to renew their membership, $25.00 per year, we suggest all visitors and members arrive earlier for this first meeting of the year.

We will be functioning a little differently from other years, offering more hands on activities so it is important for all interested parties to consult the Meeting Page on the Focus Art website, www.focusartonline.org to find out where and when future meeting and workshops will take place.”
