“We strengthen our community by acting as a community”.
Cornwall ON – Well that is exactly what happened this past Saturday. MPP Jim Brownell and the SD&SG Provincial Liberal Association beat their goal of raising $2000 for the SD&G Boys and Girls Club.
The Pig Roast was held at the Borer’s residence in Lunenburg and showcased food from local growers like the Sand Road Maple Farm and the Avonmore Berry Farm.
Face painting and miniature horse rides were just some of the activities for the kids.
The event was well attended by politicians from many levels within the riding. In addition to MPP Jim Brownell also in attendance were Cornwall Mayor Bob Kilger, city of Cornwall Councillors Bernadette Clement and Denis Thibault , Lyle Van Allen candidate for mayor in South Dundas, Del Jones councillor and candidate for mayor in South Dundas and James Borer, candidate as trustee for the English Catholic District School Board. Having the elected community leaders lend their support to this event was outstanding.
The SD&SG Provincial Liberal Association presented Wayne Kite and Jacquie Richards from the Boys and Girls Club with a cheque that will help fund programs for the youth of SD&G.
“This was giving back to the community” – MPP Jim Brownell.
