  1. Oh come on Tom. You can spring the 18 clams, and boogie to the beat into the wee hours.

  2. Heh Tom,
“Jesus loves the little children, all the children of the world,
Red and yellow, black and white, they are precious in his sight,
Jesus loves the little children of the world.” I learned that song in church as a child. It certainly taught me some very important things about the limitless love of Jesus and to be respect-full and courteous to all people regardless of sex, status, colour, religion or sexual orientation.
Seems to me that our Lord Jesus Christ is capable of love way beyond our own earthly limits and understanding.

  3. Yes, the Lord Jesus does love sinners, enough to die for them. But the type of love that God shows is a love that rescues us from the dominion and power of sin also. To be loved, and to love God is to want to be like Him – holy, pure, righteous (doing right according to God’s staandard) without any dominating sinful life styles, like for example homosexuality.

Here is one example of God’s love. In John 8 there is recorded the account of the woman taken in the act of adultery. God’s love is displayed in that she is forgiven and not stoned to death, as God’s righteous law demands. Her sins are going to be paid for by her substitute – the Lord Jesus Christ, there on the cross. Forgiveness of all sins – sounds great, and it is! Since I am forgiven, do I still go on living in sin, do I still go on committing adultery? The answer is given by the Lord Jesus Christ – “Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.” (John 8:11).

If I love God, in the light of His love and forgiveness, I will not want to go on sinning, to go on living a life displeasing to Him. The great thing about God’s salvation is that He gives us both the will and the power to obey – that’s what we call grace.

Love says – do you remember this verse from Sunday school – Matthew 1:21 “And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.”?

  4. So Tom, does this mean you won’t be breaking out your Boogie-woogie-woogie-woogie dancing shoes, and donating to a good cause? You old stick-in-the-mud.
