Rock for Charity sponsors are Martelle’s Pawn Shop and Dave’s Sportscard Shop. Thanks for helping us raise money for the SPCA! Our media sponsors are Seaway Radio and Cornwall Free News. Seaway Radio broadcasts at the show with special interviews and content, but the only way to hear the live music is to attend the event.

Be sure to listen to Seaway Radio on the Internet at seawayradio.com and to read the latest Cornwall Free News at cornwallfreenews.com. Our special guest speaker September 10th is Jamie Gilcig.

Now some information about the SPCA. The Ontario SPCA SD&G Branch’s efforts to prevent cruelty to animals and promote animal welfare require a diverse range of programs, services and activities. Current programs and services include investigations, adoptions, humane education, owner surrenders and lost and found. The SPCA relies on donations to fund its animal protection, care and rehabilitation work. Financial donations help the SPCA meet their ongoing operational costs, including providing animals with necessary veterinary care and medications, food, kitty litter and more! It also helps keep trained investigators on the streets and professional animal care staff in their shelters.

Rock for Charity, created and hosted by Jason Setnyk, raises money each month for a different charity or non profit organization that contributes to making Cornwall Ontario a better place. Previous Rock for Charity events have raised money for the Tri County Literacy Council, The Agape, the Cornwall Regional Art Gallery, the Parade of Nations, and Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Cornwall, and Baldwin House. All of the previous events raised between two and five hundred dollars each, thanks in large part to the amazing musicians who donate their time for free, and the generous people of our community who pay admission to support a great cause and who enjoy great music. We are currently seeking sponsorship to raise even more money for these good causes. The six previous Rock for Charity events have raised $1660 for local charities and non profit organizations in Cornwall and SD&G. Thanks to the musicians, people who attend, sponsors, and Cafe Connectionz for all the support!

How does the fundraising work? There is a minimum donation of $5 to attend the event, but we encourage people to donate more if they can. There is a small fee to rent the venue/PA system, but often the venue gives back a part of or all of the rental fee and donates it to the charity.

Cafe Connectionz located at 407 Water Street is a great hub for local art, an awesome local business, and a perfect host for these events. Enjoy fair trade coffee, delicious desserts, and an awesome vibe!
