Cornwall ON – One of Ontario’s newest and largest buildings is set to open this month and will begin servicing Shoppers Drug Mart and Pharmaprix stores in Eastern Ontario and Quebec later this year.
“This facility is a welcome addition to the Cornwall Business Park,” says Mayor Bob Kilger. “Cornwall is becoming a well known hub for logistics and supply chain operations in Central Canada, and I commend Shoppers Drug Mart and Matrix for their continuing commitment to our City.”
The new distribution centre is located in the Cornwall Business Park on a 64 acre parcel of land. The building measures 550,000 square feet and has 75 shipping docks. Ceilings are 45 feet above the floor and glass detailing on the concrete walls allows for natural sunlight. The building includes 24,000 square feet of offices. The building was designed by PDA Architects, engineered by Delcan and built by JMC Construction.
The building will be operated by Matrix Logistics Services Ltd., which is a division of Exel Logistics.
