Cornwall ON – Tragedy for Segway fans as Jimi Heselden, owner of the company, died in a Segway accident that somehow had him rolling off of a cliff.
Jimi Heselden, the owner ofSegway Inc. since December 2009, has died after reportedly driving a Segway scooter off a cliff and into a river.
The fatal accident allegedly occurred at Heselden’s West Yorkshire estate, according to the Daily Mail.
The Segway, invented in 2001 by Dean Kamen works with gyros, but never gained the popularity expected. The company was sold to Mr. Heselden in 2010.
Mr. Heselden’s body and a Segway were discovered in a river near a 30 foot cliff. Mr. Heselden was pronounced dead at the scene.
