Carey Price Wins as Habs mount 6-2 win over Panthers – Leafs over Sabres 5-4 – NHL Pre-Season Round Up – September 28, 2010

Cornwall ON – It was Tomas Plekanec night in Hab land as Montreal not only shot down the Florida Panthers 6-2, but Carey Price got his first win for the team this year!

Now Florida isn’t about to cause a mass of bets for the Stanley Cup, but a win is a win.

Ryan White was an assist away from a Gordie Howe Hat Trick.  My favorite Hab Mike Cammallieri had a 3 point night, and new comer Lars Ellers had 3 assists.

Heck even the Leafs won albeit in a much more entertaining game; one that Dion Phaneuf played a large role in the 5-4 win.   The Monster picked up the win in goal over Buffalo.

Former Hab Sergei Kostitsyn scored a goal in Nashville’s 2-1 win over Atlanta in a quiet slate.

In other NHL news Cristobal Huet is off to Switzerland.   Chicago will eat his contract while keeping their cap hit to a zero impact.  Montreal did some house cleaning sending down young guns Louis  Leblanc and Jarred Tinordi.    Ian Schultz, acquired in the Jaroslav Halak deal also was sent down.
