Cornwall ON – Alas poor “Mini Me” looks like it’s going to that great camera pile in the sky. Mini Me has been the “Eyes” of the Cornwall Free News since our inception. Thursday he took a tumble and hasn’t recovered since. Our computer’s don’t recognize him and we can’t access the video that’s residing on his little hard disk.
It feels odd not having the little camera on the little tripod that has been through so much since I started the Cornwall Free News. He’s traveled. He’s seen things. He’s told stories and listened patiently through the near two years we’ve been around.
He’s been at the G20 rally in Toronto. He’s survived rain, snow, wind, sleet, and bad political speeches. I feel like I’ve lost a trusty friend. I’m hoping that perhaps he can be taken off life support and come back, but a part of me knows that he’s gone….forever….
Which means it’s going to be time to buy a new camera in time for the next news event.
Goodbye my loyal friend……we will never forget what you gave to us and the world.
