It must be 2012 – Leafs Win in Regulation Time by Scoring Comeback! Habs Shut out Flyers 3-0 – NHL Scores – November 17, 2010 – Cornwall Ontario

Cornwall ON – I think when we sit back at the end of this year many hockey fans will realize how important Roman Hamrlik is to a defense.  He’s done it for years and as much as people complain about his salary he’s invaluable to this team right now.

If you look at the Habs record with and without Roman since he’s been with the team it really becomes how important a player he is.

While many are writing him off because of his age along with Hal Gill and even Jaroslav Spacek I think that if the dollars make sense  you have to keep them on the squad.

The odd Hab out may be Andrei Markov as old knees with multiple blows like he’s had just don’t get better.   His career may survive, but as this game gets faster he’s going to be getting slower and in today’s cap age can you lock up major dollars for a player with a sketchy health situation?

The good news is that Montreal will have some cap space for the rest of this season as it isn’t looking good for his return any time soon.

Tonight Montreal shut out Philadelphia 3-0 and it was a strong play Brian Gionta (3 points), Tomas Plekanec, PK Subban and of course Carey Price who shut down and shut out the Flyers who vented their frustration in the 3rd period which included Max Lapierre fighting Darroll Powe and getting a misconduct later which of course is what his should be about; aggravating the opposition!

It just might be 2012 as The Leafs not only won an actual regulation hockey game, but did so by storming back and having pucks hit the back of the opposition net in the 5-4 victory over Nashville who blew a 3 goal lead!  Kris Versteeg had two goals for the Laffs Leafs.

Anaheim lost to  Dallas 2-1.

What do you think Hab fans?   How do you spend that extra cap space due to the Markov injury?  You can post your comments below.
