WATER FILTRATION SALES

Cornwall, Ont. – The Cornwall Community Police Service in conjunction with the City of Cornwall would like to remind its’ residents that the City does not contact individuals by telephone to test water quality.  This is being done by an independent company who uses telemarketing to sell their water filtration systems.  Please be advised that the City has confirmed that they take the proper measures to ensure that the City of Cornwall’s water quality meets all the proper health standards on a daily basis.   If you have any questions or concerns, please contact D/Sgt. WARRANT

Cornwall, Ont. – Alain Mark Farley, 28, of Cornwall was arrested on the 12^th of November, 2010 on the strength of a warrant during a routine traffic stop.  It is alleged that there was a bench warrant in force for failing to attend court.  The male was arrested and he was held in custody until court the following day.

WARRANT

Cornwall, Ont. – Jesse Arnold, 45, of No Fixed Address was arrested on the 15^th of November, 2010 by the O.P.P. on the strength of a warrant.  It is alleged that on the 31^st of March, 2010 he attended a social service office and threatened to kill two employees.  Police further allege that he caused damage to property in an office by kicking it.  The male left the office prior to police arrival and attempts at locating him proved negative.  As a result, a warrant for his arrest was requested.  He was arrested and handed over to a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service.  He was held in custody until court.

BREACH OF RECOGNIZANCE

Cornwall, Ont. – A 13 year-old Cornwall female was arrested on November 15^th, 2010 for breaching her conditions.  She was bound by a Recognizance Order with a condition to Abide by the rules of the residence.  It is alleged that on the offence date, she had an argument with her mother and was breaching her condition.  Police were contacted and the young person was arrested for 1 count of Breach of Recognizance. She was held in custody until court the following day.  Her name is not being released due to provisions under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

BREACHES and FAIL TO APPEAR

Cornwall, Ont. – Rebecca Lynn Lacombe, 33, of Alexandria was arrested on November 15^th, 2010 for breaching her conditions.  She was bound by 3 separate Probation Orders with the common condition:  To Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour.  She was further bound by an Undertaking Order with the same condition and to notify the Cornwall Community Police Service in writing of any change of address, employment or occupation.  On October 28^th, 2010 the female was scheduled for a fingerprint appointment.  It is alleged that she failed to attend for the appointment.  Attempts at locating the female proved negative since she had moved and failed to notify police of the change of address.  As a result, she was located and arrested for 1 count of Breach of Probation, 2 counts of Breach of Undertaking and 1 count of Fail to Appear for Fingerprints.  She was held in custody until court on the 16^th of November, 2010.

BREACH OF RECOGNIZANCE

Cornwall, Ont. – A 26 year-old Cornwall male was arrested on the 15^th of November, 2010 for breaching his conditions.  He was bound by a Recognizance Order with conditions to not communicate directly or indirectly with 2 identified females, not to attend a specific address and to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour.  It is alleged that on November 12^th, 2010, the male attended the address and made contact with both females.  Police were contacted and the male faces 4 counts of Breach of Recognizance.  He was held in custody until court the following day.  His name is not being released as it may identify the victims in this incident.

BREAK AND ENTER

Cornwall, Ont. – The Cornwall Community Police Service is investigating a break and enter at a Guy Street garage sometime between the end of September to the 15^th of November.  The suspect(s) stole a YardWorks snow blower, a featherlite ladder, Dewalt handsaw, a Lincoln welder and a Porter Cable generator.  If you have any information regarding this break and enter, please contact the Service by dialing (613) 932-2110.

BREAK AND ENTER

Cornwall, Ont. – The Cornwall Community Police Service is investigating a break and enter at a Hamilton Crescent apartment sometime between 02:10 p.m. and 06:00 p.m. on the 14^th of November, 2010.  The suspect(s) broke into the apartment by damaging a back door window.  Once inside, the suspect(s) stole cash, a gold Roots watch, a Smith and Wesson hunting knife and prescription medication.  If you have any information regarding this break and enter, please contact the Service by dialing (613) 932-2110.

THEFT UNDER and BREACH OF RECOGNIZANCE

Cornwall, Ont. – Luke Ryan Doucet, 26, of Cornwall was arrested following a shoplifting incident on the 09^th of November, 2010.  He was bound by a Recognizance Order with a condition to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour.  It is alleged that he attended a Water Street East department store and stole property.  He was approached by the store’s Loss Prevention Officer and left the area on foot.  On November 12^th, 2010 he turned himself into police and was arrested accordingly on the outstanding charges.  He is scheduled to appear in court on the 09^th of December, 2010.

DOMESTIC

Cornwall, Ont. – A 22 year-old Moose Creek male was arrested following a domestic disturbance on the 12^th of November, 2010.  The male was bound by a Probation Order with a condition to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour.  It is alleged that on that date he had an argument with his 19 year-old girlfriend at which time he slapped her across the back of the head and caused damage to her camera.  The female did not require medical attention at the time of the incident.  Police were contacted and an investigation commenced.  The male was arrested for 1 count each of Domestic Assault, Domestic Mischief and Breach of Probation. He was held in custody until court the following day.  His name is withheld as it may identify the victim in this incident.

DRIVE WHILE DISQUALIFIED

Cornwall, Ont. – Lisa Dawn Filion, 33, of Akwesasne was arrested while entering Canada through the Cornwall Point of Entry.  It is alleged that she was operating a motor vehicle while being disqualified from driving.  She was detained by a member of the Canada Border Services Agency until the arrival of the Cornwall Community Police Service.  She was arrested for 1 count of Drive while Disqualified.  She was released to appear in court on the 14^th of December, 2010 to answer to the charge.

IMPAIRED OPERATION OF A MOTOR VEHICLE and OVER .80

Cornwall, Ont. – Justin Chad Coleman, 26, of Stamford Texas was arrested on the 13^th of November, 2010 for Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle.  It is alleged that he operated a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.  His erratic driving caught the attention of a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service and a vehicle stop resulted in the arrest.  He was transported for further testing which resulted in a charge of Over .80.  He was released to appear in court on the 30^th of November, 2010 to answer to the charges.

UNLAWFULLY AT LARGE

Cornwall, Ont. – Edward Clarence Danny Stepto, 31, of Cornwall was arrested on the 13^th of November, 2010 on the strength of a warrant.  It is alleged that the Ottawa Police Service had an outstanding warrant for his arrest for being Unlawfully at Large.  He was located at a Cornwall residence, arrested and held for the Ottawa Police Service.

BREAK AND ENTER

Cornwall, Ont. – The Cornwall Community Police Service is investigating a break and enter which occurred at a storage garage on McConnell Avenue overnight on the 13^th of November, 2010.  The suspect(s) gained entry by forcing open a door.  Once inside the garage, the suspect(s) stole a gas powered Stihl gas trimmer.  If you have any information regarding this break and enter, please contact the Service by dialing (613) 932-2110.

ROBBERY, THEFT UNDER and BREACH OF PROBATION

Cornwall, Ont. – Anthony Joseph Kevin Nuttall, 32, of No Fixed Address was arrested for several charges on the 14^th of November, 2010.  The male was bound by a Probation Order with a condition to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour.  It is alleged that in the early hours of November 14^th, he attended a Second Street East restaurant and committed a robbery by requesting change from the clerk, once the cash register was opened, he grabbed the cash tray.  Later it is alleged that he attended a Second Street East convenience store and committed the same offence.  The male is alleged to have also attended a Montreal Road convenience store and attempted a robbery at that location.  Police also allege that he attended a Water Street East department store and stole a DVD recorder.  Police were contacted following each incident and an investigation commenced.  The male was arrested at a Cornwall residence.  He faces 3 counts of Robbery, 1 count of Theft Under $5,000.00 and 4 counts of Breach of Probation.  He was held in custody until court to answer to the charges.

BREACH OF UNDERTAKING

Cornwall, Ont. – Dean Archie McLaughlin, 18, of Cornwall was arrested on the 14^th of November, 2010 for breaching his conditions.  He was bound by an Undertaking Order with conditions to not communicate with a specific male and to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour.  On the 12^th of November, 2010 police attended a Lemay Street residence on November 12^th to investigate an unrelated matter and located the males in the company of each other.  Police further uncovered that the male was in possession of drugs, believed to be marijuana.  The male turned himself into police and was charged with 2 count of Breach of Undertaking and 1 count of Possession of a Controlled Substance.  He was released to appear in court at a later date.

BREACH OF UNDERTAKING

Cornwall, Ont. – Joshua Stephen Poitras, 14, of Cornwall was arrested on the 14^th of November, 2010 for breaching his conditions.  He was bound by an Undertaking Order with conditions to not communicate with a specific male and to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour.  On the 12^th of November, 2010 police attended a Lemay Street residence to investigate an unrelated matter and located the males in the company of each other.  The male was asked to turn himself in so the matter could be dealt with.  He faces 2 counts of Breach of Undertaking.  He was released to appear in court at a later date.

THEFT UNDER $5,000.00

Cornwall, Ont. – Ronald Rheal Villeneuve, 49, of Cornwall was arrested following a shoplifting incident which occurred at a Ninth Street East pharmacy.  It is alleged that he entered the store and stole merchandise.  He was detained by the store’s Loss Prevention Officer until the arrival of a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service.  He faces 1 count of Theft Under $5,000.00.  He was released to appear in court at a later date.

BREACHES

Cornwall, Ont. – Nicholas Paul Lebrun, 35, of Cornwall was arrested on the 14^th of November, 2010 for breaching his conditions.  He was bound by a Recognizance Order with a condition to Not consume alcohol absolutely.  He was further bound by a Probation Order with a condition to Not consume alcohol for at least 12 hours before attending a specific address and to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour.  It is alleged that on the offence date, he attended the address while he was under the influence of alcohol.  Police were contacted and he was arrested for 1 count of Breach of Recognizance and 2 counts of Breach of Probation.  He was held in custody until court on the 15^th of November, 2010.

ASSAULT, UTTER THREATS, INTIMIDATION and BREACH OF PROBATION

Cornwall, Ont. – A 48 year-old Cornwall male was arrested following a domestic disturbance on the 14^th of November, 2010.  The male was bound by a Probation Order with a condition to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour.  It is alleged that earlier that evening he had an argument with his 47 year-old girlfriend at which time he kicked her and punched her.  He feared that she would contact police so he then uttered a death threat to her.  Police further allege that he also threatened to tie her up with rope to prevent her from making contact with police.  The victim escaped the residence and attended police headquarters.  The victim did not receive medical attention at the time of the incident.  The male faces 1 count each of Assault, Utter Threats, Intimidation and Breach of Probation.  He was held in custody until court.  His name is not being released as it may identify the victim in this incident.
