“…conditions to Attend school without truancy…”
That’s basic – perhaps emphasis on truancy officers would reduce emphasis on mules going to jail and getting their homes invaded.
Stern Dad – That would mean that someone in these schools would have some actual responsibility to follow.. much like the ones that let schoolyard bullies beat on a child and then toss that child into detention for trying to defend themselves.. only to find out that they had the parents, watching what was going on for days trying to figure out why their child was being tossed into detention over and over, only to find out that the teachers responsible for watching what is going on outside, were just watching the bullies pick on the child until he defended himself and then tossed him into detention.. what does this teach our children? I don’t know.. well this went on for a few days, until the concerned parent called in and explained what the both of them were watching go down in the school bus yard, and then after explaining this, and what they were going to do about it (contact their lawyer with their evidence at hand) since they were being threatened with their child possibly facing expulsion, you can bet there was never a repeat of that issue again going on in the school.. the story they received – well teachers are stretched thin and such.. blah blah blah.. too bad this was happening right beside the teachers at the time and they still weren’t doing anything about it except to punish the child incessantly (again, what does this teach our children?)
Regardless of which, truancy officers, can be a wonderful thing, so long as they actually do their job, maybe it may de-stretch some of those teachers so they can concentrate on doing their jobs of teaching in the classroom.. For that matter, perhaps a couple of schoolyard officers are in order too, just to make sure the situation outlined above doesn’t continue to happen..
