Cornwall ON – Green Infrastructure Ontario Coalition and the City of Cornwall are gathering businesses, environmental groups, urban planners and community leaders from Eastern Ontario on March 9th in Cornwall for a one-day living green infrastructure workshop. At the workshop, attendees will have the opportunity to discuss the benefits of living green infrastructure within their community and to better understand how green infrastructure can be put on both the local and provincial agenda.
The day’s activities include:
An opportunity for attendees to examine current policies and projects; Hear from Steven Peck, Founder and President of Green Roofs for Healthy Cities on how to integrate more sustainable practices; Receive information about two Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (L.E.E.D) community centres in Cornwall from Stephen Alexander, the City of Cornwall’s General Manager of Planning, Parks and Recreation Services along with Greg Livingstone, Architectural Technologist at PBK, and; Participate in breakout sessions to discuss gaps in policies and programs to create sustainable green infrastructure.
Registration for the workshop can be done through a link found on the City of Cornwall’s website at www.Cornwall.ca. The cost to attend is $95.00 per person. The workshop will be held at the Cornwall Civic Complex, 100 Water Street East, Salon A. Sign in begins at 8:45 am, and the session concludes at 5 p.m.
